Australian Consulting Network (ACN)
Supporting better judgement and decision-making where the consequences matter.
Australian Consulting Network (ACN) is a consulting and advisory organisation that partners with organisations to strengthen human judgement and decision-making in high-consequence areas. Our work spans leadership, risk, safety, governance, culture, organisational learning and capability development. We help leaders and teams better understand complex situations, recognise what matters, surface what may be missing and turn insight into well-considered, accountable action.
Guided Sensemaking
At the centre of ACN's approach is our proprietary Guided Sensemaking architecture. We combine ACN's intellectual property, methodologies and consulting expertise with each organisation's own knowledge, experience, policies, systems and operating context. This creates bespoke guided tools and decision environments designed around the organisation, its people and the work they actually do.
Rather than simply generating answers, Guided Sensemaking helps people work through complex issues in a structured way — establishing context, asking better questions, surfacing weak signals, challenging assumptions, exploring uncertainty and building understanding before action.
The approach is human-led and AI-supported, with people remaining in charge of judgement, decisions and accountability.
Where we work
ACN supports organisations across leadership and executive decision-making, risk, safety and operational assurance, governance and regulatory readiness, culture and psychological safety, incident investigation and organisational learning, learning, development and organisational capability, and projects, programmes and complex delivery.
How this can show up in practice
The Guided Sensemaking architecture can be applied to different areas of work, with each application shaped around the organisation and its needs. Examples include RiskSense — supporting more rigorous risk identification, assessment and treatment; Incident Investigation — helping teams explore incidents more deeply, surface contributing conditions and turn learning into action; Executive and Leadership Companions — supporting reflection, judgement and complex leadership decisions; Project and Programme Support — helping teams work through complexity, uncertainty, escalation and delivery decisions; and Organisational Learning and Knowledge — helping make experience, lessons and established organisational thinking more accessible when people need it.
Human-led. AI-supported. Understanding before action.
